Peppermint Mocha

Peppermint mochas are made for winter.  They are so cozy and perfect for the holiday season.

These are a sweet cozy treat in our house.  Christmas morning these are served along side with these Cranberry Orange Cinnamon Rolls.

If you are wanting to lighten this up use almond milk, reduce sugar and omit toppings.  I make this occasionally for a mid-afternoon pick me up and it is perfect.

This version is luxurious and tastes better than my local coffee shop.  Plus it saves me quite a bit as well, which is always nice!

This drink is full of chocolate and refreshing peppermint that’s perfect for this time of year.

  • 2 shots expresso
  • 2 cups milk of your choice, I used fat free half and half
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Whipped cream, topping
  • Crushed peppermint candy, topping


  1. Over medium-low heat in a small sauce pan add milk, sugar, cocoa powder and peppermint extract.
  2. Whisk until cocoa powder and sugar are dissolved and mixture is warmed through.
  3. Prepare shots of espresso in each mug. I used my nespresso machine.
  4. Divide milk mixture between two the mugs.
  5. Stir espresso and milk together.
  6. Top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy.
