Gluten Free Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

These gluten free banana muffins are the perfect way to use up ripe bananas!  With bits of chocolate these muffins make the perfectly sweet bite.

I’ve been craving banana bread.  But since going gluten free I have not found the right recipe.  These muffins definitely satisfied my craving.

I topped these muffins with a few more chocolate chips and some of them I topped with walnuts as well.  You could definitely mix the walnuts into the batter and bake but my family doesn’t love them.  I find they really make these muffins wonderful.  If you like them and have them on hand definitely add them.

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Muffins

  • Cook Time: 20m
  • Total Time: 30m
  • Yield: 9 muffins


  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 egg
  • cup milk, almond
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup gluten free all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons almond flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 6 tablespoons walnuts, optional


  1. Preheat oven 350*. Line muffin tin with 9 liners.
  2. In medium bowl whisk together mashed banana, egg, oil and almond milk until combine.
  3. Whisk in sugar.
  4. Add in flour and almond flour.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter in muffin tins. Top with additional chocolate chips and walnuts if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool. Place in airtight container.
