Happy Labor Day. I hope you all are enjoying your day. Our long weekend has been a relaxing one. It has felt so good to stay home and get little things around the house done and cleaned up.
For weeks now I’ve been craving cinnamon rolls. I’m not sure why, other than the fact that we recently got a new Panera bread in town and their danish case has me drooling big time.
Growing up my grandmother always made the best cinnamon rolls. She hated cinnamon but always made my grandfather cinnamon rolls because he loved them. I can vividly remember him sitting at the table picking up his cinnamon roll and biting into it while squinting his eyes shut. So much drama, for such a simple act. I’m thankful she made them often though. They were one of my favorite treats.
This past weekend I made Gimmesomeoven’s version. They were perfect and satisfied my craving.
I followed the recipe pretty closely but here are some adaptions I made:
4 ½ C flour
¼ C butter, melted
2 T cinnamon (note: if you like things really ‘cinnamon-y’ use the 3 T. I found 2 T to be plenty)
1 C powdered sugar
2 T milk
Pinch of salt
