Chocolate Egg Nests

Happy Monday!

With Easter right on our heels I made these adorable little chocolate eggs nest for Ava to take to school last week.  They were so easy to throw together and they turned out to be a huge hit! I placed two small nests in cute Easter ziplock baggies I found out the Dollar Tree!  It was a festive snack for her class.

This week the kids are on Spring Break!! Woot woot! It makes me wish I was in school again, just to have fun/care-free week off.

Chocolate Egg Nests

Recipe from here

{Ingredients}

1 bag jelly beans

1 1/2 C sugar

½ C cocoa

1 stick butter

½ C milk

1 ½ t vanilla

3-3 1/2 C oats

¾ C peanut butter

{directions}

In medium sauce pan combine sugar, cocoa, butter and milk over medium heat.

Allow mixture to come to a rolling boil.

Remove from heat

Add in oats, peanut butter, vanilla

Roll out about 1 T of oat mixture to form a small ball.  Place thumb in the center to form a nest like shape.

Place 2-3 jelly bean in the center of the cookie.

Place cookies on wax paper and allow to cool for 1 hr.

Be sure to work quickly so oat mixture does not fully cool.
