I recently finished the Kitchen House.  This was a real page turner.  I finished it in about 3 days, which is quite a feat for me.  I absolutely loved the way Grissom portrayed all of the characters.  She built up their stories and took you straight back in history.  There are so many emotions throughout this whole book it was quite amazing.  So many unexpected turns.  I loved how Grissom took very uncomfortable situations and gracefully wrote them out without all the gruesome details.  Slavery, betrayal, death and adultery are not easy subjects to write or read about.  This book I assure you is very well thought out and keeps your interested until the very last page.  I was so sad to see it end.
